Bunnie Xo Says Her DMs Are a ‘Boy Buffet’ After Jelly Roll Split: ‘Having the Frickin’ Time of My Life’

Bunnie Xo is here to share that the grass is greener on the other side.

After her divorce from country star ex-husband Jelly Roll was finalized in July, the podcast host, 46, appeared on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Thursday, Aug. 20, sharing what her life has been like since the split.

“Ladies, they should have never let me back out in the streets because I love it here,” Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, quipped. “I love it here, and I’m never going back.”

Calling the split “beautifully tragic,” she added, “I got my smile back and my smile’s to my ears. I’m having the frickin’ time of my life, and I’m just thriving. I never thought that it would turn out to be such a blessing, but it’s such a blessing, and I’m so thankful.”

Of course, the candid star admitted that her DMs have become flooded since the split.

“It is a frickin’ smorgasbord. It’s a boy buffet,” she joked. “I have a lot of women in my DMs too. I’m like, ‘Okay, this is amazing.’ No, it’s so much fun in there. I don’t even know who to reply to. It’s a lot. It’s a lot.”

She teased that while the pick-up lines have been flowing, none of them were appropriate for morning television.

“I hope that my journey can show women ... I feel like us as women, we put ourselves aside for partners, friends, kids,” she explained. “It’s like we don’t pour into ourselves and sometimes you need to be selfish and you need to pour into yourself. And I just hope my journey can show people, ‘Hey, you know what, it doesn’t matter how hard of a situation you’re going through, you’re gonna get through that. You’re gonna rise up and you’re gonna be an even better version of yourself.’ ”

She added that the “silver lining” in the process has been the realization that “there’s always something better to look forward to.”

And when asked if she still plans to have a child with Jelly Roll as she’d mentioned on her podcast in June, Bunnie Xo said, “So I definitely still want to have a baby and that’s gonna be one of the newest chapters in my next book. I can’t wait for you guys to read about it because it’s been one hell of a journey.”

A source previously told PEOPLE of the couple’s split, “They both wanted to handle the divorce with respect for one another.”

The same source added that 41-year-old Jelly — real name Jason DeFord — is “doing really well” in the wake of the divorce, adding, “He’s focused on his tour and his health. He’s in a good place.”
