Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen has been arrested in Indiana on charges of driving while intoxicated.

The incident occurred in Indianapolis during the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 30, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) told PEOPLE in a statement.

“Shortly after 1:00 a.m., IMPD officers conducted a traffic investigation in the 100 block of S. Meridian Street after observing a vehicle park in a no-parking zone,” the statement said.

“Officers spoke to the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Keenan Allen, and noticed signs of intoxication,” IMPD continued.

According to Marion County public inmate records and IMPD’s statement to PEOPLE, Allen was booked on two preliminary charges: driving while intoxicated in a way that allegedly endangered another person and driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher.

IMPD’s statement concluded, “An arrest and a charge are merely accusations, and Allen should be considered innocent unless and until found guilty in court. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision.”
