Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s wedding era isn’t over just yet.

While opening up to Vogue about their at-home nuptials, the couple revealed that they are planning to have a “big wedding” in the future so they can celebrate with family and friends.

The soccer star, 41, and the model, 32, tied the knot in a “private and intimate” ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, according to a press release. Rodríguez told Vogue that they chose to get married “in the living room of our house here... where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives.”

The ceremony also commemorated the 10th anniversary of when they met and fell in love at a Gucci store.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez were joined for the special occasion by their five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 9, daughter Alana, 8, daughter Bella, 4, and 16-year-old son Cristiano Jr., whom the athlete welcomed in a previous relationship.

Rodríguez went on to explain of the low-key nuptials: “In 30 years’ time, I want the children to think, ‘Something wonderful happened at this table — the wedding vows of our parents.’ ”

She also shared how the vision she had for her wedding day as a little girl shifted to something much different when it actually came time to plan the event.

“When I was a little girl,” she recalled, “I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I’m saying, ‘No. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home.’ Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: We have all of that within reach every day. But something intimate — that’s more unusual for us.”

After her nuptials, Rodríguez told Vogue the day “was exactly as I’d imagined it.”

“Intimate, full of love, and with our family in the most important starring role,” she shared, adding, “I couldn’t hold back the tears.”

The couple told the magazine they were forgoing a honeymoon as they had to head to Riyadh the day after their wedding for the start of Ronaldo’s season with club Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. The soccer star sweetly said, “Every day is a honeymoon” with Rodríguez.

Both agreed that being married won’t change much in their relationship. However, Ronaldo noted that “just the fact of being man and wife—you enter a different league.”
