Just like Anthony Bourdain, Dominic Sessa is exploring Spanish cuisine!

PEOPLE is pleased to debut an exclusive clip of Sessa, 23, visiting his Tony costar Antonio Banderas in Málaga, Spain, Banderas’ hometown, for a day of food, drink and travel in Menu Del Dia: A Day in Málaga with Antonio Banderas and Dominic Sessa.

In the video, Sessa meets Banderas, 66, after traveling to Málaga through Barcelona. The pair try cutting ham together, visit restaurants in the city that Banderas owns, discuss their respective upbringings in Spain and Ocean City, New Jersey, where Sessa grew up, and greet fans of Banderas’ throughout his community.

Bourdain himself, who died at 61 in 2018, visited Spain on a number of occasions for his travel shows, including a memorable 2013 episode of Parts Unknown.

“Oh, he’s so famous. He’s so famous, bro,” Sessa teases in the video, after a number of fans greet Banderas while they walk through the city.

In Tony, Sessa portrays a young Anthony Bourdain learning the ins and outs of a kitchen from a veteran chef (portrayed by Banderas). The pair chef it up in a kitchen together and Banderas teaches Sessa how he approaches making a risotto at home. “I’m a cook, I’m supposed to be sweating,” Banderas says as he works at the stove, when someone off-screen asks to pause and “touch up a little bit.”

“You have to pay extra for Antonio Banderas to cook it for you,” Sessa says, as he and Banderas dig in on the dish.

Later in the video, Sessa asks Banderas if he intends to live in Málaga through the rest of his life. The actor returned to life in Spain in 2017 after he experienced a heart attack, which he recently told PEOPLE served as an “unbelievably clear reminder” of what was most important to him in life. Banderas divorced from his ex-wife Melanie Griffith in 2015, though they remain close friends.

“Those were beautiful, exciting years,” Banderas said of his prime in Hollywood and previous life in Los Angeles. “But I always had this sense of provisionality that it was not going to last my whole life. I knew that Málaga was there, my hometown. I was not supposed to be in Malibu, but in Málaga.”

In the new video from A24, Banderas tells Sessa that he still owns an apartment in New York City and says he remains “very thankful to America.” “But born in Málaga, die in Málaga,” Sessa responds.

“Yes,” Banderas says. “But the thing is, people say, ‘Well, he just came back because he wants to create kind of a coffin.’ My theater is a crib, my friend, not a coffin.”

Sessa and Banderas costar in Tony with Leo Woodall, Stavros Halkias, Emilia Jones and more. Sessa recently told PEOPLE that Banderas gave him “a lot of important relationship advice” on the movie’s set.

“Antonio seamlessly just came on set and started doing his thing, and it seemed like he wasn’t really trying that hard, you know?” he added of Banderas’ acting prowess. “But I guess in reality, he’s thinking a lot about it and being very thoughtful, but his process never gets in the way of anything else going on or the other actors.”
