Good Good Golf Ad Sparks Heavy Backlash for Showing Man Shoving Woman to the Ground

Golf content creators Good Good are facing backlash over a social media advertisement that showed co-founder Garrett Clark shoving a female employee to the ground.

In the since-deleted ad, posted on Friday, Aug. 21, Clark is seen sprinting over as Good Good employee Alexis Miestowski reaches for a Good Good-branded driver in a golf bag. Clark runs up behind her, shoves her with his forearm, and stands over her after she lets out a yelp and falls. Clark then menacingly says, “Do not touch my new driver.”

The advertisement centers on a Callaway Quantum driver customized with Good Good’s branding as part of the companies’ partnership.

The advertisement immediately drew criticism for its depiction of a man shoving a woman to the ground. While it’s since been removed from its social media channels, it lives online on other accounts.

Good Good released a statement one day later in response to the backlash.

“We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand. We have since taken that content down, and sincerely apologize,” the company said. “Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive for all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission moving forward.”

Good Good, which started as a golf-focused YouTube channel, has expanded significantly since then and is now an independent media company, which secured $45 million in funding in 2025.

They partnered with legacy golf brand Callaway in 2023, to put their Good Good name on the company’s products. Callaway said in a statement shared with PEOPLE that they will continue to work with the brand.

“We are disappointed by the content that was posted, and are appreciative of Good Good for addressing this. We look forward to working together to ensure a more inclusive space in golf,” the brand wrote.

Good Good is also the title sponsor of a new PGA Tour event in November, which will be held at Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas. In a statement to Golf Digest, the PGA Tour said they do not agree with Good Good’s ad.

“The PGA Tour believes in golf’s ability to bring people together and create a welcoming environment for all. We do not condone violence in any form, and the since-deleted video does not reflect our values or commitment to inclusivity and respect,” a PGA Tour spokesperson said.
