Kelly Osbourne Admits to Concerning Weight Loss After Dad Ozzy Osbourne’s Death, Details Recovery

Kelly Osbourne is opening up about her road to recovery following her father Ozzy's death and the body-shaming she endured along the way. The "Fashion Police" alum also marked one year since his passing with a heartfelt tribute.
More than a year after losing her father, Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly is getting candid about the toll grief has taken on her and how she's slowly finding her footing again. She's also speaking out about the harsh criticism she faced during her lowest point.
Kelly Osbourne is on the road to recovery, and she's letting fans in on the journey. Just over a year ago, the media personality suffered a devastating loss when her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, passed away following a battle with Parkinson's disease.

In the months that followed, the "Fashion Police" alum sparked major concern over her significant weight loss. Amid that concern, however, she also found herself the target of relentless body shaming and online speculation.
Asked how she managed to navigate the scrutiny, she told Hello!, "I didn't navigate it — I wasn't well. How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick? I'm getting a lot better. I've got all the help I need and I'm grateful for the support I have in my life."
She added, "To go through what I had to go through on top of all of that just made it even harder. So I just had to ignore it." Kelly says she's now working through recovery, taking things one gentle step at a time.
"It's one foot in front of the other," she said. "You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It's a slow process. It's going to take me a minute. I'm not going to be fixed in a day. I'm not going to be fixed on one therapy session."
"This is a lifetime of work I've got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life."
"It's great discovering things about yourself [in therapy], and the reasons why I do certain things that stem from my childhood," Kelly continued.
"You go all the way back and you're like: 'Oh my god, that's why I do that. That's crazy.' I'm getting to know myself in a whole new way, but it's a lot more healthy, I can tell you that," she noted.
Ozzy died on July 22, 2025, just weeks after his farewell concert alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Last month, Kelly marked the anniversary of his passing with an emotional letter addressing him directly.
"One year ago today, the world changed forever," she wrote.
"Today I sit here beside you in a way I never thought would be possible. I know you are still with me. I feel you in the quiet, in the wind, in every song that stops me in my tracks, in the smell of your cologne and in every moment that love outweighs grief. You are all around me."

"The hardest part isn't that you're gone," Kelly said.
"The hardest part is that I can't touch you. I can't hold your hand. I can't wrap my arms around you or feel the safety that only you could give me. I always thought life was hard, but life without you has been the hardest thing I have ever had to endure."

The former talk show host went on to reflect on the small gestures of affection that always reminded her of her father's love, wishing she could feel them just once more. She continued:
"I have never loved anyone or anything as deeply and uniquely as I love you. And now I carry all of that love with nowhere to place it except within me, my son, and mumma. It aches every single day, but it is also the greatest privilege of my life. To have loved someone so completely."

Kelly also gushed about her son, Sidney, 5, saying her father would adore the young man he's becoming.

"Every single day I catch glimpses of him in you. Your smile. Your spirit. Your mannerisms. Sometimes it stops me in my tracks because it feels as though you've found a way to remind me that love never truly leaves us," she wrote.
She also looked back on the difficult year she's endured since Ozzy's death, though she remains resilient and committed to his teachings.
"This past year has broken me in ways I never knew were possible. But I want you to know that I listened. I did everything you told me to do, and I will continue to follow your words for the rest of my life. Your voice still guides me every day," Kelly concluded. "Until the day we meet again."
