McDonald’s latest Happy Meal features an epic cartoon crossover.

The golden arches is rolling out a new SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal at participating locations nationwide starting Sept. 15.

“Aye, Aye, Captain! A legendary adventure is about to make waves at McDonald’s,” begins an announcement on the fast food chain’s menu spotter.

“For the first time ever, two of the most iconic franchises of the ocean are coming together for one treasure-filled adventure,” the release continues. “After all, what happens when a fry cook with big dreams crosses paths with a young captain determined to become King of the Pirates? Obviously, an unforgettable voyage packed with friendship, adventure and imagination.”

The collection features 15 toys that mash up characters from SpongeBob‘s Bikini Bottom with One Piece’s Straw Hat Crew.

The full list includes SpongeBob as Luffy, Patrick as Zoro, Sandy as Nami, Squidward as Sanji, Gary as Tony Tony Chopper, Plankton as Usopp, Mr. Krabs as Jinbe, Larry as Franky, Pearl as Nico Robin, Smitty as Brook, SpongeBob as Gear 5 Luffy, Flying Dutchman as Blackbeard, Mrs. Puff as Big Mom, Mermaid Man as Garp, Barnacle Boy as Koby.

When McDonald’s shared the news on social media on Monday, Aug. 31, fans expressed excitement over the unexpected collaboration.

“That would be kind of cool if they actually made an episode of this could you imagine?” wrote one Instagram commenter, while another observed, “Mermaid man garp is peak.”

When someone else wrote, “I still can’t believe it’s real 😂,” McDonald’s account replied, “oh so real.”

While this marks the first fast food promotion with both franchises, other restaurants have launched previous meals starring their characters.

In April, Popeyes partnered with Toei Animation to introduce Popeyes x One Piece.

“Inspired by series’ iconic characters and their larger-than-life journey, this one-of-a-kind One Piece collaboration invites fans to fuel up like a member of the Straw Hat Crew with exclusive menu items and collectible drops designed to spark fandom, sharing, and serious hype,” read a press release shared with PEOPLE at the time.

The limited-time lineup included the Luffy Bento Bundle, with two pieces of Signature Chicken, Mac & Cheese, a Gum-Gum Fruit Lemonade and Chopper’s Cupcake.

And in December 2025, Burger King announced its SpongeBob SquarePants limited-time menu, in honor of the release of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.

The playful items included SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper, Mr. Krabs’ Cheesy Bacon Tots, Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie and Pirate’s Frozen Pineapple Float.
