Megan Moroney knows just how much her new album Cloud 9 means to fans.
The 28-year-old singer-songwriter, who recently teamed up with Raising Cane’s, shares in an interview with PEOPLE that she has seen the concert outfits her fans wear to her The Cloud 9 Tour — and is happy to see that they have carried on the theme she envisioned for the album.
“If you go to a show, everyone there looks like they followed a very strict dress code,” she says, adding with a laugh. “You know, there was no dress code.”
“But it’s just so much fun, and it’s fun to bring these songs to life visually and with all the pink and the glitter and the white boots, of course. It’s just been a really fun time,” she adds.
Several of Moroney’s lyric videos for her new album feature the musician in pink minidresses and outfits with plenty of sparkles — something her fans have adapted for their own concert looks.
On TikTok, fans have shared videos wearing similar bright pink dresses with matching cowboy boots or cowboy hats. One video shared by a fan showed just how many fans stuck to the dress code at a recent Moroney concert with the words, “loving the sea of pink.”
As for the inspiration behind the pink-themed outfits, the “Tennessee Orange” singer says she wrote “about five songs” for her new album before realizing that it was “gonna be pink.”
“And then especially when I wrote ‘Cloud 9,’ um, just the whole world showed up in my head,” she tells PEOPLE. “And fortunately, I have a great team that helped me execute it exactly how I dreamed up. And it’s just been really fun to have, really dive into the brand side of things.”
