Whitney Thore is engaged!

The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star, 42, said “yes” to boyfriend Jake Beaudoin.

“Jake has officially graduated from boyfriend to fiancé,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We’re getting married, and we couldn’t be happier.”

Thore says she was “completely surprised” by Beaudoin’s proposal, which “made the moment even more special.”

“It was truly perfect,” she gushes. “The ring is absolutely beautiful, and there’s a special story behind it that means so much to us. We’re thrilled to start this next chapter and build our future together as husband and wife.”

The engagement news comes just three days after Thore officially debuted her relationship with Beaudoin on Instagram on Aug. 15. She posted a photo of the pair posing with their arms around each other on a scenic overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.

A second photo showed the two kissing while standing next to another couple.

Thore captioned the post simply with a black heart emoji.

For several months leading up to their hard-launch, the TLC star had shared only glimpses of her then-mystery man, never showing Beaudoin’s face until now.

In the comments of her post, fans shared their happiness that Thore had found love.

“Here for the hard launch! 😏,” one person wrote, while another said, “I am happy to see you happy! And if he is a smart, lucky man, he will always remember what a catch you are!”

Last year, Thore began documenting her journey toward becoming a mother.

In the season 13 premiere of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, she embarked on a search to find a sperm donor. In a later episode, she decided to undergo artificial insemination.

In 2018, Thore revealed on her show that despite possibly wanting children, she was not sure if she could have them due to her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that affects fertility.
