August’s First Quarter Moon Brings an Uncomfortable Reality Check and 4 Zodiac Signs Can’t Escape It Any Longer

If things are suddenly wildly complex, August’s first quarter moon in Scorpio is about to put an uncomfortable spotlight on what needs to change.

This lunar phase marks the first real turning point of the lunar cycle, when whatever began around the new moon (in this case, the solar eclipse in Leo) comes face to face with resistance, pressure or an unexpected reality check.

Suspicious and deeply transformative, the tension brought on by a first quarter moon in this Water sign can trigger everything from intense feelings and trust issues to power dynamics and uncomfortable truths.

The first quarter moon — when the moon appears half illuminated in the sky — marks the halfway point between the new moon and full moon. Astrologically, this is a call for action as a result of friction.

For instance, if you have a particular goal in mind, this is where your excitement to pursue it is confronted with a harsh reality check. Is it possible? What do you have to do to succeed?
