Barry Manilow abruptly canceled two of his Las Vegas residency dates.
On Friday, Aug. 21, the music legend shared an Instagram post announcing the news that he would need to cancel that night’s show and the Saturday, Aug. 22 concert at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
“We’re very sorry but we have to cancel tonight’s and tomorrow’s performances. Due to technical and vocal problems, we’re unable to put on our show,” Manilow, 83, wrote in a statement.
Earlier this month, the “Copacabana” singer abruptly postponed his Lexington, Ky., concert on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s show in Lexington has been rescheduled,” Manilow wrote on X at the time. There was no specific reason provided for the change.
On March 9, the “Mandy” hitmaker had previously been scheduled to perform at Rupp Arena in Lexington, but the show was postponed while he underwent treatment for lung cancer, per local NBC affiliate LEX News.

In a PEOPLE cover story in March, Manilow discussed his cancer treatment journey and how it changed his relationship with music.
“You just don’t even think about [how fragile life is],” he said of his stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis. “And suddenly, you have lung cancer. But I’m still here. I’m not all here; there’s part of me that isn’t here — they took out a part of me, and now I’ve got to figure out, ‘What do I do?’”

Manilow had visited his doctor for hip pain and underwent an MRI of his pelvis and lungs after suffering two rounds of bronchitis in November 2025. He was then diagnosed with lung cancer.
Manilow said the doctor “saved my life, because there’s no symptoms for what I had.”
Of the moment, the Grammy winner previously told PEOPLE: “I could go on, nothing hurt — but they found the dot in my lung. They called me and said, ‘Could be cancer.’ That’s a bad word. ‘Not me. F--- you. I can’t have cancer.’”
Manilow also credited his husband and manager Garry Kief for supporting him in his journey to reclaim his voice amid his cancer treatment.
“It has really, really made me take stock of my life,” he told PEOPLE. “This made me stop and think about: Have I done what I wanted to do, and have I made people happy? Have I been a good friend? All of those cornball things that I’ve read for all of my life, I started to think about that, too. It really did stop me in my tracks.”
Manilow added: “And the answers are yes. And as a matter of fact, there are more yeses than I ever thought.”
Manilow is next scheduled to perform at his Las Vegas residency on Thursday, Aug. 27.
