Khloé Kardashian’s Friends Reveal the Reality TV Advice She Gave Before Filming ‘The Girls’ (Exclusive)

The Girls premieres on Hulu on Friday, Aug. 21

Khloé Kardashian invited her friends to join her new reality TV series, but first she offered some words of wisdom.

The Girls, executive-produced by Kardashian, sees Nicole Williams English, Olivia Pierson, Natalie Halcro, Yris Palmer, Khadijah and Malika Haqq as they navigate the “highs and lows of motherhood, marriage, dating, business and life in the spotlight.”

Though all but one of the girls have previously appeared on reality TV, Kardashian gave them advice as they stepped in front of the camera for the Hulu series.

Pierson, 36, tells PEOPLE that Kardashian was “supportive” and made herself available whenever the girls needed. “Obviously, she’s a producer, so she really was there for us,” she says, adding that Khloé and Kim Kardashian “trust” them.

“They’re just always so supportive. We know we can call them whenever we need them, and she made that known for us before filming,” Pierson adds. “We felt really taken care of.”

Williams English, 42, who was an original cast member on E!’s WAGS series and is married to retired NFL player Larry English , echoes the same sentiment, saying, “We’ve all pretty much been on TV before, except for Yris. And so I think that Khloé just knew we’re ready to go.”

“Just like Olivia said, she’s always there,” she says. “‘If you need me, if you feel comfortable, if there’s anything happening, text us.’ She’s probably gotten a few texts.”

Reality TV newcomer Palmer, 36, shares she was “a little nervous” to be a part of The Girls but was put at ease once Khloé offered her words of encouragement. “She was like, ‘Just show up as yourself and people are going to love you and just do the best you can,’” Palmer notes, before adding she couldn’t get through filming without Malika and Khadijah by her side.

“From career milestones and family challenges to girls’ trips, launch parties and life-changing decisions, these ambitious women come together through their shared connection to Khloé,” the official synopsis reads. “But as they spend more time together and get to know one another on a deeper level, unexpected tensions, old wounds, and clashing perspectives begin to surface — testing whether these friendships can grow as their lives continue to evolve.”

During her July episode of PEOPLE’s WAG World, Williams English teased The Girls was the “L.A. version of Sex and the City.”

“You’re going to see a lot of really good fashion [and] a little bit of drama,” she added. “Behind every group, strong friendship, there’s some drama, obviously… It’s a fun mixture of fun, drama, fashion, [we] got makeups, breakups, there’s lots going on.”
