Sandra Bullock is “unbelievably proud” of her two children.

While speaking with Access Hollywood at the United States premiere of Practical Magic 2 on Monday, Aug. 31, the actress, 62, revealed that her two children, daughter Laila, 12, and son Louis, 16, have small roles in the movie. However, she noted that her children don’t show up in the film in an “obvious way,” but she’s excited to “show them” their cameo.

“They’re in the movie but not in an obvious way to you,” she told the outlet. “Yeah, not in an obvious way, and so I can’t wait to sort of show them where it is. They don’t know where it is.”

Asked if she’s a “proud mama,” Bullock confirmed she is “unbelievably proud” of her children. The actress then praised them for being positive influences on her.

“What’s amazing is that something happens when you have kids where you stop being the influence on them, and they become the influence on you,” she said.

“Louis [is] my steadfast moral barometer. And I’m always like, ‘What would Louis do?’ ” Bullock added. “And when it comes to like spotting things and thinking forward, it’s [Laila]. It’s just like they’re so completely different, but yet they give me two halves of a whole.”

“Oh god, yes,” Bullock said when asked if she related to the protectiveness her character, witch Sally Owens, experiences. “I’m all over [it].”

“The fearfulness of what I think to be normal, that is me to the core,” she went on to note at the event, which took place at the Odeon in London’s Leicester Square. “And my children will tell you the same.”

The Speed star further reflected on how you cannot totally shield your children from negative experiences, despite how much parents want to.

“I think any mother will tell you [that] all you want is for them to not have the same pain as you did. But guess what? That’s not their journey,” she told PEOPLE. “The pains make you the full, rounded person that you’re supposed to be.”

The Bird Box actress was in her late 40s when she welcomed her son and daughter via adoption, but she believes they arrived in her life at the perfect time.

“I don’t know why that was the only route, but I’m so glad the universe had me wait, ” she said on Red Table Talk in December 2021. “Had me wait even though I was anxious and I was eager — and it went nope, you’re not going to do it the way you think you’re going to do it.”
