Christmas-loving mom Kelly Jones put up her tree five months early during a summer heat wave because she was craving “cozy Christmas vibes”
The 46-year-old said she watches holiday movies, listens to Christmas music and shops for gifts throughout the year
Christmas is especially meaningful to her because it brings her family together, and she is even considering keeping her tree up year-round this time
A Christmas-loving mom couldn’t wait until December to get into the holiday spirit, so she put up her tree five months early in the middle of a summer heat wave.
Kelly Jones of Derby, England, decorated her home for the holidays on July 16, while temperatures in the U.K. were reaching around 86 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Kennedy News and Media.
“I’ve always loved Christmas. It’s my favorite season of all,” Jones, 46, said.
The mother of three said she first found a way to justify bringing out her tree early about two years ago, when she decided she would decorate it for fall before eventually transforming it for Christmas.

“It was a good excuse to get my Christmas tree up,” she explained.
“I put the Christmas tree up with the lights and decorated the whole room autumn-themed. I’ve been doing that for a couple of years,” Jones added.
This summer, however, the full-time caregiver decided she didn’t even want to wait for fall.
“I’m so fed up with the heat. I am craving cozy Christmas vibes,” she said. “I thought, ‘I’m going to manifest it and I’m going to get the tree up.’ ”

Jones’ love of the holiday extends far beyond her decorating schedule. She said she begins buying gifts in January, saves money throughout the year for new decorations and regularly watches Christmas movies and listens to holiday music — regardless of the season.
“I’m massively Christmas-obsessed,” Jones said. “I listen to Christmas music all year round and I watch Christmas films all year round.”
“I like Home Alone, The Polar Express — all the love stories that are really cute,” she continued. “I love it. I can’t wait. I’m already looking at what recipes I might be doing.”
While her enthusiasm may raise some eyebrows, Jones said her children are completely on board.
“All the kids love it. They say it’s like Santa’s grotto,” she said. “Everyone says I’m crazy, all my friends can’t believe it.”

Jones said she typically brings out her entire holiday collection by the end of October, filling every room with lights and ornaments — including two 6-foot-tall nutcrackers.
“It takes me weeks to decorate — every room in the house is done for Christmas,” she said.
“We have lights everywhere, ornaments — everywhere is done up,” she added.
Jones is so reluctant to say goodbye to her decorations that she is already considering a new strategy for 2027: keeping the tree up permanently and changing its theme throughout the seasons.

“My idea for next year is to have it up all year round and theme it around spring and summer, so I never have to take the Christmas tree down,” she said.
For Jones, however, the obsession isn’t only about decorations — it’s about creating lasting holiday memories and coziness for her family.

“I swore that when I had children, I would always do something big at Christmas, it would be my thing,” she explained.
“It’s just nice being with family,” she continued. “I’ve got older children that don’t live at home, and for me it’s that time that brings us all together,” Jones added.
