Anna Camp to Host ‘Spine-Tingling’ Renovation Series Set in One of America’s ‘Most Haunted Houses’ (Exclusive)

Anna Camp is set to host HGTV’s new “spine-tingling” renovation series, ‘A Very Haunted Renovation’ premiering Tuesday, Sept. 15. PEOPLE got an exclusive first look at the chilling show, which will see a group of six designers restore a “tormented” Victorian mansion in Ohio.

HGTV’s newest renovation series is bringing “one of America’s most haunted houses” back from the dead!

Hosted by Anna Camp, A Very Haunted Renovation (premiering Tuesday, Sept. 15) sees the Scream 7 star, 43, head to Fremont, Ohio, to welcome six brave designers into the “eerie and historic” Bihl Manor.

PEOPLE got an exclusive first look at the six-episode season, during which the group is not only tasked with restoring the Victorian mansion to save it from being torn down, but they also have to “eat, sleep and live” there for 31 days.

“Ghosts roam three floors of eerie spaces, tormenting all those who enter,” Camp teases in the above clip. “Unoccupied, falling apart and on the verge of demolition, no one is brave enough to set foot inside — until now.”

Along the way, local townspeople share their terrifying stories — including ghostly encounters — that they’ve personally experienced with the property.

“I would see a man standing upstairs, just standing there looking out the window. I found out there was nobody there — the house was empty,” a former neighbor recalls.

Meanwhile, homeowners Karlo and Heather have had their own fair share of spooky experiences in the abode.

“Nobody told me this when I bought it,” says Karlo of the property’s haunted history. Heather adds of one chilling memory: “I went down to the basement. I felt this cold finger go all the way down from my neck down to my back.”

Karlo notes that while he hopes to “save this house,” its reputation has made it hard to get contractors to work on it.

“Everybody knows that it’s definitely haunted,” local builder Adam chimes in. “You just always feel like you’re not alone. You just feel like somebody’s watching you.”

While no one has dared to take on the challenge until now, the six designers — SK Stokes Kennedy, Patrick Peel, John Ryan, Bershan Shaw, Logan Wright and Diana Vogel — are ready to immerse themselves in the “tormented mansion” and give its “spine-tingling spaces” a full transformation, per a press release from HGTV.

Their design skills — and fearlessness — will be tested as they compete to be crowned winners of the competition and receive a $50,000 cash prize. In addition to being met with elimination challenges each episode, they’ll also receive guidance from design expert and mentor Michel Smith Boyd.

Spooky icons will serve as guest judges throughout the season, including actors Billy Porter, LuLu Wilson and Elvira star Cassandra Peterson, as well as paranormal investigator Jack Osbourne, horror film director Eli Roth and production designer Hannah Beachler.

The first episode of A Very Haunted Renovation will see the competitors break into two teams as they work to reimagine one of the bedrooms. But there’s one catch: the space has to draw on the spirits of Lizzie and Alvie Bihl, who are “rumored to haunt the sleeping quarters,” according to the release.

A Very Haunted Renovation premieres Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV.
