The actor joked that his current appearance in 2026 is “more flattering” than the version of adult Draco in the film
Tom Felton is reflecting on what it was like to film the epilogue for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2.
Fifteen years after the final Harry Potter film was released in 2011, Felton, 38, said that the epilogue time jump required “a lot of research into what we would look like 19 years later.” The epilogue showed the main characters — including Felton’s Draco Malfoy, Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter, Rupert Grint’s Ron Weasley and Emma Watson’s Hermione Granger — as adult parents sending their children to Hogwarts.
“That meant photographs of my brothers — I have three older ones — my dad, their hairlines, their facial complexion,” Felton explained in a video shared on the Harry Potter Instagram account. “And so around that, they designed what Draco would look like 19 years later.”

Joking that the depiction of the older version of Draco “seemed rather unfair compared to Harry and Ron’s,” the actor went on to emphasize how happy he is to finally “get to put that right” by reprising his role in the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play on Broadway.
He also made it clear that he thinks the reality of what Draco looks like now is “somewhat more flattering than what they did” in 2011’s Deathly Hallows — Part 2.
Felton also remembered the time they spent shooting the epilogue to be nothing less than “an awesome day.”
“Obviously, we knew it was the end,” he said. “That was not a set or a studio, we shot that at King’s Cross station, so it was pretty cool.”

“It’s even cooler that I genuinely thought that was the last day that I was gonna ever, ever be a wizard,” he said.
“And here I am. Harry Potter and I are sharing a dressing room here on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway,” he added, while holding a Harry Potter-themed water bottle.
Felton’s Broadway run as Draco has been extended until Jan. 3, 2027.
In the Tony-winning play, Draco is a father to Scorpius Malfoy, whose unexpected friendship with Harry’s son, Albus Potter, sets off a journey through time with consequences for both their families.
During one particular performance of the play, which takes place 19 years after the events in the last installment of the seven-book series, Felton said that he “nearly cried on stage” knowing that there was a “special guest & dear friend” in the audience.
In photos shared to Instagram at the time, he and Warwick Davis, who played multiple distinct roles across the film series, including Professor Filius Flitwick, could be seen embracing backstage before the two greeted audiences together at the stage door.

“Tbh I nearly cried on stage saying ‘Wingardium Leviosa’ knowing he was watching,” Felton wrote in the caption.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first to be presented onstage. Written by Jack Thorne and based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Thorne and director John Tiffany, the play had its world premiere in London in July 2016.
The current Broadway cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is led by John Skelley as Harry Potter and Trish Lindstrom as Ginny Potter, with Emmet Smith as their son Albus Potter. Rachel Christopher and Daniel Fredrick play Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, with Janae Hammond as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley. Aidan Close plays Draco’s son Scorpius Malfoy and Kristen Martin plays Delphi Diggory.
